ABOUT THE EVENT
The 2026 WLL Championship Series returns to The St. James outside Washington, D.C., bringing the fastest, most explosive version of women’s professional lacrosse back to center stage. Across two high-energy weekends — February 27 through March 8 — all four WLL franchises will compete in the Olympic Sixes format, showcasing the speed, creativity, and elite athleticism that defined last year’s record-setting debut.

The field features the defending champion Boston Guard, joined by the California Palms, Maryland Charm, and New York Charging, each vying for the league’s second Championship Series title. In 2025, the Guard’s 22–17 victory over New York became the most-streamed women’s pro lacrosse game ever on ESPN+, highlighting the rising demand and momentum behind the women’s game.
This year’s event introduces an expanded two-weekend structure. Round robin games will run from February 27–March 1 and March 5–6, where teams battle for seeding, playoff berths, and a coveted bye to Championship Sunday. The fourth-place team will be eliminated, while the second- and third-place finishers clash in a semifinal on March 7 for a chance to advance to the WLL Championship Series Final on March 8.
With nearly double the scoring of traditional field lacrosse, the Sixes format delivers constant action — quick subs, rapid ball movement, and high-octane play that rewards skill and pace. For fans, it’s a front-row look at the sport’s future as the format builds toward the 2028 Olympic Games.
The WLL Championship Series shares the stage with the top four teams from the Premier Lacrosse League, creating an immersive lacrosse showcase unlike any other in the sport. Tickets for the 2026 Championship Series go on sale November 19 at 12:00pm ET. Experience the best players in the world, the fastest format in the game, and the next chapter in women’s professional lacrosse.
